In response to the suspension of face-to-face classes, the dedicated teachers of Gayaman Elementary School continued to conduct home visits to monitor the progress of learners and provide necessary guidance and assistance in accomplishing their Activity Sheets.

The Office of the President, through Memorandum Circular No. 131, has directed the implementation of alternative work arrangements in government offices in Abra on August 20, 2026, in view of continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

For schools in Abra: Unless otherwise directed by the respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented at all levels in both public and private schools.

Government agencies providing basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue operations.

COS and JO workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector remains at the discretion of management.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, our dedicated teachers of Gayaman Elementary School continued their home visits to monitor learners, check their accomplished worksheets, provide guidance and assistance, and distribute additional worksheets to support their learning at home.

Their commitment and dedication show that learning never stops, even in times of challenges. We are grateful to our teachers for going the extra mile and to our parents and guardians for their continued support in guiding our learners.

In accordance with the announcement of the Provincial Government of Abra, face-to-face classes from Kindergarten to Senior High School in all public and private schools are suspended on August 17, 2026.
This suspension is implemented upon the recommendation of DepEd Abra to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners, teaching, and non-teaching personnel.

๐Ÿ“š Learning Continuity:Teachers are advised to implement appropriate Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM), when conditions permit, in accordance with DepEd guidelines, to ensure the continuity of learning.
This is pursuant to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2024, particularly Section 1, Article I, which provides for the suspension of in-person classes during disasters and emergencies while ensuring learning continuity through appropriate alternative delivery modalities.

The Provincial Government of Abra announces the suspension of classes from Kindergarten to Senior High School in all public and private schools tomorrow, 12 August 2026.

College-level classes will proceed as scheduled.

Work at the Provincial Government of Abra will also resume.

For municipalities affected by the recent typhoon and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the decision to suspend work is entrusted to the sound discretion of the respective Local Chief Executives, guided by prevailing conditions and the safety of their constituents and personnel.
