On August 14, 2026, the district’s educational agenda moved beyond consultation and into decisive convergence, as PSDS Jiji E. Tiuzen, EdD met with Hon. Mayor Maria Gloria Montenegro-Constantino, whose unequivocal support continues to reinforce the district’s pursuit of responsive, future-oriented educational development. The engagement was likewise strengthened by the participation of Hon. Darius E. Regis, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Education, underscoring the vital role of legislative leadership in advancing education-centered initiatives.

The dialogue centered on the provision of technical assistance for the establishment of ten schools, the separation of three school annexes, the creation of stand-alone Senior High Schools, and the advancement of the Farm School initiativeβ€”strategic undertakings envisioned to bring educational opportunities closer to communities while strengthening the institutional identity, autonomy, and capacity of schools.

The technical deliberations were further enriched by the presence of Senior Education Program Specialist Michael Villar and Program Specialist Che Yumol of the Schools Division Office, whose expertise provided substantive guidance in navigating the policy, organizational, and operational dimensions of these transformative initiatives.

More than a meeting, the engagement reflected what becomes possible when local governance and educational leadership converge with a shared sense of purposeβ€”transforming plans into pathways, policy into action, and aspirations into tangible structures that advance the welfare of learners, schools, and communities.

DepEd Abra de Ilog District continues to move forwardβ€”strategically, collaboratively, and with a resolute vision of an educational system built not merely to respond to the present, but to endure into the future.

The pursuit of educational excellence is equally shaped by visionary governance and decisive public policy. During the Sangguniang Bayan Regular Session on August 3, 2026, PSDS Jiji E. Tiuzen, EdD joined municipal leaders in a landmark legislative undertaking that culminated in the approval of the resolution supporting the separation of annex schools and the establishment of stand-alone Senior High School in Abra de Ilog. An official copy of the approved resolution was subsequently secured, signifying another important step toward the realization of this transformative educational initiative.

The milestone further reflects the strong partnership between the Local Government Unit of Abra de Ilog and the Department of Education in advancing meaningful educational reforms.
