On Monday, we will be having a visit from two Northland Taniwha players. They will be bringing the Ranfurly Shield. To show our support for the Northland Taniwha, all tamariki are invited to wear BLUE 💙 on Monday 7 September. Let's show how proud we are to be part of the Northland team!! 🏈

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our WVS Cross Country such a fantastic event. It was wonderful to see our tamariki having so much fun, giving it their best and, most importantly, supporting and encouraging each other along the way. 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️
Thank you to all the whanau who came along to support the tamariki amd cheer them on. Your support of our fundraising efforts by purchasing sausages and Juicies was also very much appreciated!
I also would like to acknowledge and thank all of our AMAZING staff for the many jobs they took on the make the day run so smoothly. A special shout out to Whaea Chloe and Matua Luke for all the planning and organising that went on behind the scenes.
What a great day of fun, fitness, connection and encouragement.
I am sure that tamariki and staff will be sleeping well tonight 😴

And finally, a reminder that tomorrow (Friday 28 August) is staff only day so school is closed for all tamariki.

A reminder that TOMORROW is our school cross country event. 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ Please ensure tamariki have a change of clothes to run in, a towel and a bag to put their dirty clothes in.
We will have a sausage sizzle and Juicies available to purchase.
We are looking forward to seeing lots of our whanau tomorrow!

A very special time for Northland with the Ranfurly Shield returning to the north after 48 years. Huge congratulations to the team and their captain Rivez Reihana.
Fifteen years ago, Rivez captained our very talented Whau Valley School Rippa Rugby Team who were NZ champions and won the 2011 Rippa World Cup. From holding the Rippa World Cup as an 11 year old, to now the Ranfurly Shield as captain for Northland, is a special moment for us all, and fantastic to see these past pupils reaching their potential. Kia ora whanau
As some of you may have seen on the way home this afternoon, one of our students was involved in a bike vs bike accident on Kamo Road. The student was complaining of arm and shoulder pain, so an ambulance 🚑 was called. He was transferred to hospital in good spirits.
Thank you to everyone who supported with this incident for their thoughtfulness and quick actions.
