I'm on a mission to educate and inspire people to grow their own kai, create rich and healthy soils, and care for our taiao (environment) in sustainable, meaningful ways. As a Kaiako (tutor), I love sharing practical knowledge and hands-on skills that help build resilience in our communities - starting in our own backyards. Whether you're a beginner or already on your gardening journey, this space is for learning, sharing, and growing together.

Mahinga Kai Certificate - Spaces still available.

If you're interested in joining our Mahinga Kai Level 3 Certificate, we still have spaces available and it's not too late to enrol!

Whether you're keen to deepen your maara kai / gardening knowledge, connect with kaupapa Māori values or simply learn practical skills for growing and gathering kai, this course is for you.

Come and be a part of a nurturing, hands-on learning experience that celebrates our whenua and our kai. Nau mai haere mai.

Mahinga kai ki Kawatiri is full 🙌🏾 we start our first class this week, our kaupapa Tūrangawaewae.
Big mihi to the kaimahi at Te Hā o Kawatiri, Buller Reap, Homebuilders, Ara Poutama John McFadgen and the garden crew at 37 Peel street and MSD for helping to promote this kaupapa and the wonderful team at the westport library for being so accommodating and welcoming.
