30th May 2026. The first day that ST Lower Hutt ran a School Readiness Program for our 3-5 year olds. We are currently still in trial/testing mode - our daughter and her besties were our first group and we honestly thought they would last 10 mins, but how shocked were we when they lasted the whole 50 minutes and didn’t want to leave! Absolutely stoked, and everyone loved Ms. Greta .savagee ❤️😍 Well done, Greta!

This week marks an important milestone with the NCEA Literacy & Numeracy (CAA) assessments — and we just wanted to remind every student that progress is progress, no matter how small. 💛

✨ Meet Theo ✨

Theo is one of the friendly faces your children will see at Success Tutoring Lower Hutt 💙

Theo is currently studying English and Classical Studies, and brings creativity, curiosity, and a genuine passion for learning into every session he teaches 📚✨

Outside of tutoring, Theo enjoys reading, playing guitar, and watching Formula 1 racing 🏎️🎸📖

Theo tutors because he loves helping students where they need support most, while encouraging them to see that learning can actually be fun. One of the things he enjoys most is getting to know each student and watching their confidence grow over time 💡

His teaching style is calm, supportive, and engaging. Theo uses visual aids, practical examples, and open conversations to help students feel comfortable and understood in the classroom environment. He also believes learning becomes even more effective when lessons connect to the things students already enjoy outside of school 🎨🧠

For Theo, one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing students become more confident in themselves and their abilities — especially when they begin to realise they can succeed ❤️

Theo’s love for English comes from the way stories can transport us into completely different worlds:

The single best study technique we teach: study in sprints.

25 minutes focused. 5 minutes off. Repeat 3–4 times. Then a longer break.

Why it works: your brain consolidates new information best in short, intense bursts. After about 30 minutes the returns drop sharply — but most students push through anyway and end up tired, frustrated, and remembering less.

Try it with your tamariki this week. Phone in another room. Timer running. One subject per sprint.
