We had a fantastic day at the Tough Guy Tough Gal event in Wainuiomata recently. Congratulations to all our students who completed the course - Ka mau te wehi!

How cool is this! Ngā mihi nunui ki a Simon Gilbert from the Porirua Green Bike Trust for 2 brand new 'tag-alongs' for our student's bikes so that they can take their children with them.

This term we've been getting on mountain bikes and taking to the tracks around Porirua. Thanks to Simon from Dirtskool for this opportunity and Tū Manawa for funding.

We had a great trip to the recently opened Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui (Wellington City Libraries). Thanks to all the staff there who showed us around and hosted us in the Makerspace. It was interesting to see what happens behind the scenes and what was on offer for rangatahi and their tamariki.

The Porirua Careers expo was filled with opportunities to find out about different career opportunities - even from some of our very own graduates!

Happy Mothers Day everyone! And a big thank you to ARISE Church who celebrated our students and staff with a special afternoon tea. There was yummy food, cupcake decorating and wardrobe fit-outs!

Nau mai, haere mai ki ā mātou ākonga me kaiako hou. This term we welcomed our new students and staff with a Mihi Whakatau.

Due to the Regional State of Emergency and the ongoing Red Heavy Rain Warning, He Huarahi Tamariki staff and students are working and learning from home on Tuesday 21 April.

Last week, our students and their babies had a great Rock 'n' Rhyme session with our favourite librarians Stephen and Petra from Wellington City Libraries.

We've had a great start to 2026 here at school with a range of activities, workshops and goal setting. A big shout out to Nick from Wellington Free Ambulance who came back to run a session for our students. And to the team at Inspiring the Future Aotearoa for the workshop they ran - including mystery guests!
