Wairarapa Cross Country
Last week we had a team of 20 runners attend the Wairapapa Cross Country. They showed incredible determination and ran so well (despite the super cold conditions).
Join in the celebration of great things happening at St Teresa's School. This space is for parents, staff, friends and ex-pupils. It caters for year 1-8.
Remember - 13 years old is the rule for having Facebook so we are not expecting to find any of our current pupils on here. St Teresa's School is a catholic primary school in Featherston, Wairarapa.

On Friday St Teresa's Featherston set out to plant alongside Donald's creek to celebrate World Environment Day. However they were foiled by a high flow in the creek, which meant they couldn't cross over.
Even though a light rain was falling, they still took full advantage of the learning experiences to be had by conducting a stream health assessment, something which they have done regularly in the past.
The students were excited to find lots of cool critters in the creek and even some bullys which showed that there is a healthy habitat. They measured the flow, water clarity, not so clear on rainy day which was interesting information, and the water temperature.
St Teresa's school have a long term relationship with Donald's Creek, exercising kaitiakitanga. They were the designers of a shelter with a science table that shows all of the creatures that live in the stream. It is on SH52 heading to Martinborough just as you leave Featherston.
This place is part of St Teresa's local curriculum and Principal Liz Lark has led this connection now for nearly 10 years. They appreciate the support of the South Wairarapa District Council for mowing the area, the Greater Wellington Regional Council for advice about where to plant and the Ruamahanga Restoration Trust for providing the plants for creating more healthy habitat for Donald's Creek.

On Friday, Waiorongomai and Wairarapa had a blast painting kindness rocks. They will be used to spread kindness to others in our school and encourage everyone to be bucket fillers.
