Ngaio Childcare Centre is a community owned, non-profit centre. It is fully licensed and chartered by the Ministry of Education.
Ngaio Childcare Centre offers high quality care and education for children in a secure physical and emotional environment with a small group size and excellent teacher to child ratio; ideal for the child’s first transition from home. Teachers create a warm and welcoming atmosphere through positive, respectful and inclusive practices that foster the children’s social competence. Our Centre environment is well resourced and early literacy and numeracy are interwoven throughout the programme.

It is managed by a parent committee which meets regularly to review operations and policies and is clearly focused on providing many opportunities for the care and education of children in safe and secure surroundings. The centre's vision for providing rich learning experiences based on children's interests through collaboration with parents is evident in practice.”

“The centre offers all day education and care and is licensed for 16 children including five aged under two years. The intention is to provide opportunities to "bridge the gap" between the first steps from home, to mixing in a group with other children and then moving on to attending other early childhood centres.”
