Last Tuesday, a team of 45 Martinborough students competed in the Wairarapa Interschool Cross Country event at the Solway Showgrounds. Despite the cold southerly weather and muddy conditions, our students showed outstanding sportsmanship, determination, and commitment throughout the day.

We are incredibly proud of all our participants and their efforts, with some fantastic individual and team performances across all age groups.

A special congratulations goes to the 16 students who have qualified for the Regional Cross Country event in Upper Hutt at the end of the term:

🎤 S P E E C H F I N A L S 🎤

Last week, we held our Speech Finals, and we are incredibly proud of all our finalists for confidently presenting their speeches to the school.
Congratulations to our age-group winners and our overall champions on their outstanding achievements.

A special mention goes to Evie and Ruby, who went on to represent our school at the South Wairarapa Speech Competition. We are very proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.

Well done to everyone who participated!

🏃‍♂️C R O S S C O U N T R Y 🏃‍♂️

Our Cross Country event was held on last Friday, and while the rain stayed away, the sun took its time breaking through the clouds until the final events of the day.

The day ran smoothly, beginning with the senior races, followed by a fun run that was enthusiastically supported by many of our senior students. It was fantastic to see such great sportsmanship at the finish line, along with some surprising results across the races.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our event and helped make the day a success. Special thanks to The Goodtimes Truck for keeping everyone well fed throughout the day.

Well done to all participants—we look forward to seeing our qualifiers represent their schools at the Wairarapa Cross Country event! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👏

Our Year 3 students will kick things off, with presentations continuing right through to our Year 8 speakers.
