Global Connection Project - GCP

Share

Global Connection Project (GCP) is a non-profit hub for people volunteering to help each other & charitable or pre-revenue impact initiatives. No $$$ involved.

GCP is an international time bank community. How does GCP work? We exchange our time and skills to help each other. Just volunteering an hour and in exchange you receive an hour back. You choose what services you would like to contribute to other time bank members. Then you can make a request for how you would like to 'spend' the hour you've earned. So long as someone in the GCP community is offer

**Free support services**

In this time of Covid, everyone needs extra support. Our team is doing our best to provide as much as we can.

One of the GCP projects is Salto - a collective of expert transformational coaches who all offer their services online.

πŸ”₯

The women from Salto decided to launch one of our charities, Māia (a global women's empowerment project) in the middle of lockdown.

πŸ’œ

Our focus is the health, safety and well-being of all women, no matter where you are.

We operate in all majority languages and several minorities.

Please, if you know anybody struggling, please tell them about these global nonprofit initiatives so they know they can reach out in their native language to seek free support. πŸ’—

- Māia Women
- HOPE - Hands On Practical Entrepreneurship (business creation & development support training and mentoring)
- Going Global Languages - GGL (free conversational language classes online with native speaker teachers. Max 8 learners per session)

If you are struggling to find work and are passionate about social impact and positive change on a global scale, this is for you...

Global Connection Project (GCP) and Quartz Consulting are both accepting proposals from self-employed contractors to work with us.

Please don't send us a traditional CV & cover letter. We do things differently. πŸ˜‰

You choose all aspects of your own proposed involvement.

You write your own role description.

To apply, email us at [email protected] or [email protected] and include the following:

- a 1 - 2 page story describing all the things that make you who you are. How you self-identity, how your family and friends would describe you, what you're passionate about, your dreams, goals and aspirations.

- the services you can provide as a coach, teacher, mentor, trainer, advisor and / or business support, administration or management professional

- your weekly / monthly availability & current timezone

- how much you charge per hour / session and in which currencies (creatives - just give us an indication of the range)

- your operational languages

- any professional development opportunities / support you'd like to receive from us

We'll be interviewing online via Zoom and in person in Wellington, NZ in September.

Would you like to learn and practice speaking another language?

Send your request to us at [email protected]!

So that we can arrange a free conversation session for you, please make sure you outline all these things for us:
- which language(s) you'd like to learn
- what your current level of proficiency is
- what your motivation is to learn
- your weekly availability and current timezone
- anything else about yourself you'd like us to know!

Once we've arranged a match for you with a native speaker volunteer to chat over Zoom, we'll let the rest of the GGL community know in case anyone else wants to join in.

These free conversation sessions have 2 - 8 learners and 1 - 3 native speaker volunteer teachers.

GGL backstory:
Going Global Languages (GGL) is the volunteer initiative we started in Buenos Aires back in 2017.

It runs as a time bank skills exchange - this means you can earn time credit by volunteer facilitating a free conversation session in your own native language.
In return, you can then 'spend' this time credit on teacher training sessions we run for our GGL volunteers worldwide.

GGL is run by Valiant - the GCP languages and cultures division that provides (paid) professional language classes and teacher training courses.

Valiant Languages NZ Request a free language social or professional paid language class - online or in-person.

GCP Mission:

We have one mission: provide and facilitate access to quality education services and opportunities for free.

Our primary demographic are those who are underprivileged through no fault of their own. In other words, those who normally wouldn't have access to quality education services due to being time or money poor or because they live in a remote location and / or have don't have internet etc.
