Looking forward to starting off my weekend with a breath of fresh connection at our community class Saturday 9-11am @ Innermost Gardens.

We'll have a mix of veterans and people new to relational mindfulness, and I love the possibilities that creates!

One time it led to a spontaneous improvised ritual giving thanks to...a stack of apples wearing jewelry. I don't even remember how we got there 🙂

The next session of our 4-week "Fundamentals of Relational Mindfulness" Course starts next Wednesday in Wellington.

Bringing tools from mindfulness into interactions with others, we'll explore more genuine and enriching ways to relate, listening past our differences to discover our common humanity, and find greater strength in moments of uncertainty.

It's a great chance to have meaningful interactions with new folks to boost your mood through the end of the year.

I don't think most people understand what I mean when I talk about genuine connection.

It's like trying to describe the feeling of the warm kiss of the sun on your skin on the perfect day to someone who has lived underground their whole life and has no suitable reference for it.

You offer them the chance to sample it, but they have things to do. And besides, they know the warmth of a heater, presume "it's probably not much different, and besides I have a lot to do", and carry about their day.

I sometimes wonder if everyone on the planet was given the opportunity to feel safe enough to allow themselves to experience genuine connection - would everything change?
