A HUGE WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO COMPLETED THEIR RAD & APDA MOCK EXAMS!

Over the last two weekends, so many of our dancers have stepped up and completed their mock exams — and we are incredibly proud of every one of you!

Mock exams are such a valuable part of training. They allow dancers to experience the exam environment, build confidence, manage nerves, receive feedback, recognise their progress and set goals for what to work on next.

They also teach dancers the importance of preparation, perseverance and performing as part of a group working towards a shared goal.

And how special it is this year to be adding Contemporary and Musical Theatre to our mock exam mix! It’s wonderful to see our dancers expanding their training and challenging themselves in even more styles.

A huge thank you to our teachers for all the preparation, encouragement and care you put into getting everyone ready.

Well done dancers. Be proud of yourselves and all the hard work you’ve put in! Keep up the hard work and enjoy performing on your real exam days soon 🤍✨

New Zealand Youth Ballet Company is coming to town! 🩰✨

We’re incredibly excited to see a group of Centralpoint troupe dancers take to the stage alongside the NZ Youth Ballet Company and former student, Isabel Martin, next Thursday 13th & Friday 14th August at the Lake Wānaka Centre.

Since graduating from Centralpoint, Izzy has been training full-time in Christchurch with the New Zealand Youth Ballet Company, continuing to pursue her passion with dedication and commitment.

This September, she begins an exciting new chapter, heading to London to commence full-time training at the English National Ballet School. Securing a place there is an extraordinary achievement, the result of years of hard work, perseverance, courage and a genuine love for the art form.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything Izzy has accomplished so far. She has embraced every opportunity with courage and determination, and we know she will make the most of this incredible next step.

We wish Izzy every success as she embarks on this exciting journey, and we can’t wait to see NZYBC back in town, our Centralpoint dancers performing alongside them…and to have Izzy back home on our Wānaka stage for one last time. 🤍

Tiny feet, big smiles and a whole lot of fun… our Ready Set Dance and Ready Set Ballet classes are back for Term 3! 💜✨

These magical preschool programmes are designed especially for little ones, combining dance, music, imagination and movement in a way that builds confidence, coordination and a love of learning from an early age.

We’re also delighted to be welcoming a new Ready Set Dance Preschool qualified teacher to our team this term. Her passion and specialist training with young learners make her a wonderful addition to our preschool programme, and we can’t wait to introduce her and for our youngest dancers to see her again very soon!

There’s something incredibly special about watching children discover the joy of dance, make new friends and grow in confidence each week. If you’ve been thinking about giving your preschooler the opportunity to try something new, we’d love to welcome you into our dance community.

We’re baaaaaaaack! ✨

Term 3 starts today, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back into the studios!

We hope you’ve all enjoyed a well-earned break and are feeling refreshed, because we’ve got an exciting term ahead. New choreography, performances, exams and plenty of memorable moments are waiting, with lots of fun to be had along the way.

Whether you’re returning for another term or joining the CP family for the very first time, we’re so excited to dance with you.

A few reminders:
• Please arrive a few minutes early for your first class.
• Don’t forget your dance shoes, drink bottle and a big smile!
• New families are always welcome, with limited places still available in selected classes.

✨ Velocity Dance Competition | Invercargill ✨

Another wonderful weekend of dancing back in May saw Briar, Casey, Charlotte C & Ellie take to the stage at the Velocity Dance Regionals in Invercargill.

We view each competition as an opportunity to perform, learn and continue growing as dancers. From stepping onto the stage to taking on feedback and supporting each other throughout a weekend like this, every experience will help shape young dancers into stronger performers.

✨ PHOTO SHOOT DAY ✨

A couple of weeks ago we loved hosting Heidi Martin at the studios for her Wānaka dance photo shoots.

It was wonderful to see so many dancers take up the opportunity and enjoy the experience. Heidi has a fantastic eye for capturing beautiful lines and images, along with a wonderful ability to make dancers feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera. The results are simply stunning.

The finished photos are absolutely beautiful and will be such special memories for our dancers and their families to look back on for years to come.

A huge thank you to Heidi for sharing your talent with our dance family and capturing these moments so beautifully. We can’t wait to do it again! 🤍
