We’re Growing… and We Want YOU! 🌱
Waiuku Early Learners is bursting at the seams (in the best way!) and with our roll growing, we’re on the hunt for two amazing kaiako to join our fun, supportive team.

Positions Available
• Full-time Teacher Support
• Part-time Registered Teacher or Year 3 Teacher in Training

Are you our next teacher extraordinaire. Waiuku Early Learners are looking for a new team member. We are a small community-based centre that is a mixed age setting. We foster whanau connections and like to create links in the community to extend the experiences Tamariki can be involved in beyond the centre. Today our tamariki have been super busy making broccoli and cheese bites using the broccoli grown in our garden. The children really enjoyed making and eating the healthy treat!🥦

Here’s the recipe incase you want to try it at home.

▢ 300 g Broccoli - chopped
▢ 3 slices Wholemeal bread - blended into bread crumbs. Additional breadcrumbs for coating bites (approx 1/4cup)
▢ 100g Cheese - grated
▢ 2 Eggs - whisked
▢ 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
▢ 1 pinch sea salt and black pepper

Instructions.
Add the broccoli to a pan of boiling water and simmer for 3 minutes. Drain and then add to a large bowl and mash until very fine.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and mix well.
Take out 1 tablespoon at a time and roll in to a small sausage and repeat until you have 20.
Roll each ‘bite’ in additional breadcrumbs until coated.
Place on a lined or oiled baking sheet and cook in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F for 25 minutes until they start to crisp up. Or airfryer until crisp.
Serve with your favourite dip.
