~ NORTH HARBOUR RUGBY RIPPA FESTIVAL ~

Yesterday, Swanson had a group of Year 3-6 students attend the North Harbour Rugby Rippa Festival. All teams played their hearts out, displayed amazing sportsmanship and resilience, and most important of all - had lots of fun!

A big thank you to Kaya, Rob, Kenzie, Kaane and Mrs Papas for all of your hard working coaching and mentoring our teams.

Also to our wonderful whānau supporters, we appreciate you all out there cheering on our tamariki - ngā mihi!

~~ INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY ~~

On Tuesday 18 August, forty Year 5–8 students headed down to the Kumeu Showgrounds to compete in the Cross Country Zones Day. It was a huge success, with every student displaying our school values throughout the day.

The sun was shining, but a cold wind made for challenging conditions. The course was rugged, muddy and demanding, but all 40 students gave it their absolute best. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves for completing such a long and challenging course.

Our students were competing against up to 80 other children in their year groups, so finishing in the top 20 is a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations to Dorian (C3) in year 6 who placed 14th; Marwa (E2) in year 7, who placed 15th; Reynard (E3) in year 8 and Ayo (E1) in year 7, each both placed 20th.

A special congratulations goes to Alicia Risk (F4) in year 8, who placed an outstanding 10th in her age group! Alicia will now head off to the Auckland Championships next Friday.
