I have great news: use of the SMATA app is now FREE, forever.
Why?
Well, when I had the idea for SMATA, I wanted it to be a tool for teachers that helped them maximise the impact they had on student learning. And it is. Teachers are finding it a powerful tool that is supporting them to see students in new ways, ways that is helping them respond to student potential.
But what I've realised is that, because teachers don't have control of the budget, money is a barrier to them adopting it. Money is getting in the way. So, I have decided to make it free.
It's weird. What is overtly a really bad business decision feels really good. It sits better with me and why I built it in the first place. I guess you could say it's more aligned with my why.
How can you help me?
- Spread the word about the impact SMATA is having on your practice.
- Tell people SMATA app is now free, no obligations or strings attached.
But what about money?
There is still a subscription option for SMATA - the web portal that offers leaders learning analytic data drawn from observations made in the SMATA app. Over the next few months this is going to be made more powerful, enabling finer grained data analysis, and adding in sharing capabilities. So, if you are finding value in the app, a subscription will be a good next step for your school and will help support the continued development of SMATA.
And if you are interested in talking about how I can help you or your school develop your capability to foster learner agency, please message me to discuss my consultancy services. At the moment, that's how I'm paying the bills!
Thanks everyone.
Let's make learning awesome, one block at a time.
