Know Your Rights on First Aid Qualifications 😎

Your union NZEI Te Riu Roa has heard from ECE members who have recently been asked to pay for their own first aid training.

This is a reminder that first aid certificates are a licensing requirement for centres, but not a registration requirement. This means it’s a cost that the employer must meet to operate, not a teacher’s cost to pay.

If it doesn’t feel like you should be paying for it, you’re probably right!
