Lots of awesome daffodils in many shapes and forms at school today! Thank you to our community who raised over $300 for the Cancer Society during our online and school Daffodil Day fundraiser.

Do you have a passion for helping and supporting diverse learners? We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (Teacher Aide) to support a variety of learners across the school.

If you are empathetic, patient and passionate about helping tamariki reach their potential, with a great sense of humour, contact us here at Upper Moutere School.

You will work alongside classroom teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and whānau to support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and physical needs.

Key Responsibilities

In-Class Support: Assist children 1-on-1 or in small groups with literacy, numeracy, and classroom tasks.

Social & Emotional Guidance: Help children build positive peer relationships, self-regulation, and confidence.

Adaptation: Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and sensory breaks.

Inclusion: Foster an environment where every child feels valued, safe, and included (Manaakitanga).

We are looking for the right person who is available to support on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. This is a fixed term position beginning Term 4 2026.

More Science fun in Turama and Marama Whetu this week.
Our little Scientists are investigating the Science of Weather, using the house of House of Science NZ "Weather Ready" kit.

Their curiosity was piqued with the "Tornadoes" they made - their faces show it all 🥹 Well done team!

Daffodil House of Science NZThe children in Ramaroa Iti are experimenting with food colouring and daffodils, in the lead up to our Daffodil dress up day on Thursday.

Watch this space for their next experiment...... they have some super ideas and questions to investigate.😃
