My name is Nikki and I would like to welcome you to Vocal Steps, contemporary vocal coaching.
Whether you are an experienced vocalist or are wanting to take your first steps towards developing your voice, I offer a personalised coaching method designed to work with YOUR voice and YOUR sound.
Build your confidence and ability through learning and practice: range, style(s), vocal strength, pitch, performance technique, microphone technique, caring for your instrument and so much more.
I have been singing and performing for over 40 years, both on stage and with various musicians. My own voice has developed over the years from learning, practicing and actively working with it - it doesn’t just happen!
Whichever direction you choose to take with your voice, I would be delighted to help you on your journey, singing can bring such joy to both the singer and their audience.
HOW? I offer two methods of coaching, online and in person.
# Online: Bookings can be made in half hour blocks, with consecutive blocks if required via Messenger or Zoom.
# In Person: Again, half hour blocks with consecutive blocks if required although I do recommend a one hour in person coaching session as it is very valuable to a singer’s development.
COST
Online: 30 minutes $20
In Person: 30 minutes $25
Concession: pre-pay for 5 coaching sessions (this can be a combination of virtual and in person) and receive a 15% discount.
PAYMENT
All Online Coaching must be pre-paid via internet banking.
In Person Coaching can be pre-paid via internet banking or in cash at the time.
FOR PARENTS: I am firmly committed to both online and in person safety for your young people. As such I request that parents be present and visible during both forms of coaching. With virtual coaching it is important to me that parents are monitoring their child’s use and interaction with the internet, that they are only engaging in their lesson and that a parent open and close the vocal coaching session.
With in person coaching I would request that a parent be present during the lesson, quietly absorbing. There are also benefits to my ‘parents be present’ policy, parents will be able to encourage and assist their children in between coaching sessions as you will be able to remind or prompt when needed.
The Fine Print:
# Booking Cancellation: any booking may be cancelled up to 7pm on the day prior and will be refunded in full if already paid. Any cancellation after this will not be refunded. Payment MUST be received prior to any online coaching session commencing.
Lessons can be booked on weekends by prior arrangement, there is no weekend availability via the booking tool.
Things you will need:
# Online Coaching: stable internet connection, platform (Messenger or Zoom), access to Spotify or some other music player.
# In Person: access to Spotify or some other music player.
As part of the coaching process I offer the opportunity to record yourself (for learning purposes only) which is a very valuable tool in vocal development. No recording will be kept, used or distributed by myself in any way. However, each student can of course keep their own recordings.
