The Key Playcentre Playgroup The Key Playcentre Playgroup offers quality early childhood learning through play. We are run by local families for local families.

Playcentre philosophy is based on child-initiated play & parents as first educators. Our playgroup is a little less formal than a usual Playcentre. We are an early childhood education service, run as a parent co-operative, which commits to:
- Learning through play
- Birth to school age
- Mixed age sessions
- Family involvement

Children are strong & capable people who learn through play and who ar

e competent to make their own choices about how and where to play. At playgroup children lead the way, with adults there to guide, extend and support them when needed. We don't get a paid teacher at our playcentre since we moved to a playgroup but we do have Alisa who volunteers her time to attend sessions and helps us plan activities for each week. She has a great relationship with all the tamariki who attend, they are always so excited to see her every Wednesday! Thank you Alisa for everything you do for us 🥰
