Senior School Classroom Teacher Years 6–8 – Education Gazette Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 31/08/2026, End Date: 15/12/2026 (Special project. This fixed-term position has the possibility of continuing into 2027)

We were incredibly proud of our Year 7 & 8 students who represented Rangiuru School at the Pre-AIMS Indoor Bowls Tournament in Mount Maunganui.

They really held their own against some very skilled teams, showing great focus, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. It was awesome to see them step up to the challenge and represent our kura so well.

A special congratulations to Macey and Zeppelin, who did an amazing job making it through to the finals! 👏🌟

Friday Afternoons at Rangiuru School

With our Year 7 & 8s away at a Pre-AIMS Games Tournament today, our Friday whole-school sport took on a whole new look and the sunshine certainly turned it on for us! ☀️

A huge thank you to our amazing kaiako and Kiwi Leaders for making sure we could still enjoy this much-valued time together.

When our Year 7 & 8s returned, they were pretty impressed with what was happening and wasted no time jumping in and joining the fun too! It was another great example of the natural tuakana–teina connections we see at Rangiuru, with our older and younger tamariki playing, helping and enjoying time together.

Sunshine, lots of laughs, friendly competition and plenty of whanaungatanga ...a pretty awesome way to finish the week! 💚🙌

Te Puke High School is looking ahead and planning for the future, and they want to hear from our wider community.

Kia ora TPI Whanau,

We have received correspondence from Alan Liddle (Principal of Te Puke High School) who is looking for community voice around the future plans for Te Puke High School. He is seeking voice around the learning environments, school culture and opportunities to create the ideal school for the entire community. Alan and the team at Te Puke High School are particularly keen to hear from the TPI whanau. I strongly encourage all of the TPI whanau to contribute to this kaupapa as your input may have a significant impact on the shaping of the future of Te Puke High School.

This term, we’re excited to welcome two new KiwiCan leaders to our kura, Whaea Molly and Matua Gabe.

They have already received a warm Rangiuru welcome, and our tamariki have enjoyed listening to their pūrākau as they begin this term’s KiwiCan learning journey.

Here’s this week’s update from the KiwiCan team. We’re looking forward to another fantastic term of learning together!

One of the best parts of being a principal is getting to spend time with our tamariki and see their learning in action.

Today, some students from Whānau Tui came to my office to challenge me to play the best two maths games they had created this week. The games were designed to help practise the basic facts they have been working hard to master.

I quickly realised it wasn’t going to be easy! Both games were so well thought out, and the scores were very close. I was really impressed by the creativity, effort, and thinking that had gone into designing them.

To make it even better, we enjoyed a hot chocolate while we played. It was such a lovely way to finish the week and a great reminder that learning can be fun, purposeful, and something to be proud of.

🌱 Community spirit at its absolute best!💚

A few weekends ago, we were incredibly fortunate to experience the strength of our wider Te Puke community when the amazing team from Southern Cross Horticulture generously gave up their weekend to support our kura.

Led by Tom and Mark, their team of builders and orchardists rolled up their sleeves and completely transformed our old kiwifruit bin garden beds, replacing them with beautifully crafted, bespoke raised garden beds that were desperately needed. Their generosity didn't stop there—they also filled the beds with fresh garden mix and even sourced plants for our winter crops through the wonderful team at Daltons Garden & Landscape Supplies

Our tamariki are so excited to get planting, and we can't wait to see these beautiful new gardens become a thriving part of our Garden to Table programme each Friday, where students learn valuable life skills while connecting with the whenua and the food they grow.

It is partnerships like these that make such a huge difference to our kura. Having businesses and community members willing to share their time, skills, and generosity enables us to create meaningful learning opportunities for our tamariki that simply wouldn't be possible without their support.

To Tom, Mark, and everyone from Southern Cross Horticulture who gave up their weekend to help us - thank you. Your generosity, hard work, and community spirit have made a lasting difference to our school. We are incredibly grateful for your support and can't wait to share our Garden to Table harvests with our community in the months ahead. 🌿🥕🥬💚

This week, a group of our amazing students took on the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge at Baypark Arena!

Our tamariki tackled a muddy farm run, army crawled under cargo nets, navigated tunnels, and climbed over obstacles, giving every challenge their very best effort. They showed incredible determination, resilience, and courage from start to finish.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing our school value of Whanaungatanga shine so brightly. Our tamariki encouraged one another, lent a helping hand through the obstacles, cheered each other on, and celebrated every achievement together.

We are so proud of every student who represented Rangiuru School with such enthusiasm, teamwork, and perseverance.
