Topana Taurite Aikido Tuesday & Thursday Training
6pm - 7:30pm
Saturday mornings 7am - 8:30am at the Whakatane MMA Centre
Weapons every session.

New members always welcome - casual drop ins from other dojo's also welcomed. Our syllabus is Iwama style aikido with gradings once in a blue moon. Our emphasis is on solid technique, honesty and weapons. We practice 'Traditional Tuesdays' where solid qihon from Ikkyo to Rokyu is practised as well as all other traditonal Iwama forms. Thursdays are 'Brutal Thursdays' where emphasis shifts to throws

, pins, locks, partner manipulation, weapons taking and occasionally name calling. Saturday mornings are 'Sensai Saturdays' (& occasionally 'Special Needs Saturdays') where Sensai Jason explores more esoteric aspects of aikido and students do their best to keep up - a highly valuable time. Sense of humour is a must in the dojo - we are strictly speaking non-tradtional Aikidoka but train hard, frustrate each other and strive to reach an excellent level of understanding and ex*****on of technique.

Big shout out to City Aikido for hosting the amazing Sensei Pat Hendricks and the open invitation to other aikido clubs - training amongst other clubs and amazing people truly strengthens our aikido! Well done Rose City Aikido!
