EIT, in partnership with Trust Tairāwhiti has $9000 to share over up to three future tech karahipi | scholarships, for ākonga enrolling in the Bachelor of Computing Systems in Tairāwhiti in 2027.

If you're passionate about technology and curious about emerging fields like AI, robotics, and drone technology, this karahipi|scholarship could help you take the next step on your learning journey.

What an awesome moment seeing EIT’s very own Agriculture Tutor, Sam Sidney, and ākonga at the farm with the Burke family on Country Calendar.

Future-proofing our farming industry starts with investing in the next generation. Sam, along with EIT ākonga are gaining the skills, knowledge and experience needed to help shape a strong and sustainable future for Aotearoa and its primary sector.

We’re incredibly proud to see our tutors and ākonga making a real impact, preparing rangatahi not just for the farming jobs of today, but for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.

Students saw a whole new side of agriculture and horticulture at Gisborne’s Ag Hort Day Out.

From drones and virtual fencing to genetics and lab science, the next generation discovered just how high-tech the primary industries really are.

Hosted at our EIT Tairāwhiti Rural Studies Unit, the hands-on expo connected local students with industry experts, opening their eyes to exciting career pathways they may not have considered before.

Gisborne’s Ag Hort Day Out gives schoolkids insight into the increasingly high-tech nature of New Zealand’s primary industries.

Cyclone Vaianu is expected to bring significant rainfall and wind over the weekend to our regions. EIT has continued to monitor Cyclone Vaianu as it approaches New Zealand, especially as it relates to our campuses and activities in Auckland, Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti.

We expect all EIT Campuses and Regional Learning Centres to reopen as normal next week but please note that the EIT libraries on the Taradale and Tairāwhiti campuses will be closed on Sunday.

Should the situation change, we will update our pages. Please be assured that your personal safety, household safety, and family responsibilities take priority above all else.
