Kiwi Iti Early Learning Centre

Kiwi Iti Early Learning Centre Kiwi Iti Early Learning Centre is lead by a great team of qualified, caring and dedicated teachers.

We are committed to providing high quality care and education in an environment where children feel safe nurtured and loved. We believe that at Kiwi Iti Early Learning Centre children will learn and develop as a rounded person, proud of their culture and who they are and proud of their capabilities and what they contribute to the centre environment and community. We will support their eagerness to

discover, explore, learn, and grow in their own time and way. As such we provide an environment with various open-ended resources that promote free play, we are passionate about equipping our environment with resources that complement the interests each child holds. We believe that by providing a well-resourced environment complimented by our loving atmosphere, the children’s health, well - being and belonging will be nurtured and in turn be strengthened. At Kiwi Iti Early Learning Centre we care for and educate children aged 2 - 5 years. Our small centre accommodates up to 28 children and is recognised as a small centre in our town of Putaruru. Our environment is resourced to promote intrigue, exploration, and learning. We believe in providing a safe place for children to develop and grow in their own way, in their own time. Our curriculum is influenced and designed around the interests of the children attending, guided by the New Zealand early childhood frame work Te Whariki. We take pride in building authentic relationships with all our children and their families. We value all feedback from our families and community to fine tune our curriculum and the way we practice to meet the needs sort.

Kia ora whānau,

We are inviting the community to take part in a short questionnaire focused on transitions, wellbeing, belonging, and partnerships for tamariki and whānau.

We would love to hear about your experiences across different settings, including ECE centres, kōhanga reo, schools and the journeys of your tamaiti present or past. Your whakaaro will help strengthen the ways we support tamariki and whānau through transition and learning pathways.

This is an opportunity to help ensure whānau voice is seen, heard and valued within our community.

Thank you for taking your time to contribute your ideas, experiences and aspirations for our tamariki.

To all the mothers and important people that step into the role, we hope you have the best day!

To all the incredible mums, somehow the years pass in the blink of an eye. One moment you’re holding tiny hands, and the next you’re watching children grow while still carrying the endless weight of everyday life on your shoulders. Through it all, you keep going, always putting others first, always making sure everyone else is okay before yourself.

Mums are the quiet strength behind so much of what we call home. The early mornings, the late nights, the sacrifices no one sees, the love poured into every meal, every hug, every word of encouragement, every hard day carried without complaint. So much of what you do can go unnoticed, but it never goes unappreciated.

Today, we hope you allow yourself a moment to pause. To rest. To breathe. Even if it’s only for a little while. Because you deserve to feel the same love, care, and kindness that you give so freely to everyone around you every single day.

Thank you for the endless love you give, for the strength you show, and for being the heart of your families. We appreciate you more than words can truly say.

Happy Mothers Day 💐

We have been busy here at Kiwi Iti preparing for our Rua Pēpē (Baby Burrow) space to open.

We are almost there, our new kaiako have induction next week, then we begin to hold visits for our new whanau and tamariki. It has been a process and some hard out mahi but we are so excited to be extending our centre further. The community spoke and we heard you!

If you are looking for under two care for 2026 please email or message us for details there are limited spaces available in first instance as we settle into our new groove.

Enjoy the sneak peek finishing touches to come but we couldn’t resist sharing 😍
