What makes our kindergarten unique? This beautiful kindergarten is often referred to as the ‘hidden gem’ of Pukekohe. Mason Avenue kindergarten is now a bronze Enviroschools kindergarten. Mason Avenue is a not-for-profit kindergarten with 3 qualified teachers plus an admin assistant and teacher aide. We have an environment where children are encouraged to explore, question, investigate and discove
r. The kindergarten programme offers children an environment that is stimulating, inviting and challenging. We trust that children are capable and confident learners and therefore have tools such as hot glue guns for children to use. At Mason Avenue kindergarten we place high importance on sustainable practices including recycling, reducing waste, composting, worm farming, and water catchment (in water tanks). We do our best to look after our beautiful papatuanuku (earth mother)
Conservation and care for our natural environment and its creatures is something we are passionate about, and we have ongoing involvement from visitors such as BNZ save the kiwi, and Department of conservation (DoC) who all help to reinforce knowledge and this interest. We believe in the value of whānau and community involvement. We welcome and encourage participation and contributions from parents, whānau and the wider learning community in order to support our collaborative approach to teaching. At Mason Avenue kindergarten, we actively promote healthy eating and physical activity as we believe in an holistic approach to each child’s learning and development.
