What’s up with the weather?
Massive snowfall this morning at Oasis Education – there was so much that we made a snowman! Snow in central Motueka – who would’ve thought?

But wait... it’s all about perspective.
Just like snow might seem magical or inconvenient depending on your view. Its the same when tamariki bring us problems that may seem small to adults but feel huge to them. Their experiences are real and meaningful in their world.

This moment connects beautifully with the principles of Te Whāriki:
🌱 Wellbeing | Mana Atua – Supporting children emotionally by acknowledging their feelings and providing comfort when things feel overwhelming.
🌍 Belonging | Mana Whenua – Creating a space where children feel safe to express concerns, no matter how big or small.
🗣️ Communication | Mana Reo – Valuing their voice, listening carefully, and responding with empathy helps them feel heard and understood.

Today’s snow reminded us that seeing the world through the eyes of tamariki helps us better support and nurture their growth.

This week, our tamariki have been learning about Easter — a time of hope, love, and new life. We’ve shared stories, created beautiful Easter crafts, and celebrated the joy of being together.

As we reflect on the true meaning of Easter, we’re reminded of kindness, forgiveness, and the light that shines when we care for one another.
