Pongakawa School

Pongakawa School Pongakawa school, located in the centre of the Bay of Plenty, the best school around, catering for year 0-8. Your child's second home.

Pongakawa School is very much a family orientated school and it is our belief that coming here should feel just like coming home or put another way your childโ€™s home away from home. Our every day philosophies, values, programmes and life in general come from this belief. The Second Home phrase is lifted directly from our school song (yes we have one of those too) which states;

Pongakawa School,

second home within you I have grown. Pongakawa School is not seen as a 9 to 5 sort of place and for those here, it is a real lifestyle choice. Teachers, non-teaching staff, parents, community and students all working together to ensure our children become highly successful motivated leaders who are ready to move confidently in an ever changing world. Put simply, Pongakawa School exists for the kids!

LInk provided in your class seesaw over the next while to Kimberley's Tough Guy and Gal challenge...Greatly appreciated Kimberley. A great day out for those who enjoy a bit of mud, water and challenges.
Because the BOT are undergoing research into using images on FB, the link will be placed through your class seesaw from teachers. Just give them a day to do this. Thanks in advance.

Today, the Middles team were lucky enough to have MOWS (Maketu Ongatoro Wetland Society) share their expertise with us around sediment and waterways, wetland birds, wetland bugs and eels.

The students rotated through a range of hands-on activities and had so much fun experimenting, investigating and problem-solving along the way! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿชฑ

We are incredibly grateful to MOWS for sharing their knowledge, passion and love for our local wetlands with our students. What a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the importance of protecting our wetlands for generations to come.

Thank you, MOWS!

Thank you to our parents Belinda and Ayesha for bringing in their lamb, Frosty and calf, Lola, today for our pet talks. Students who are or maybe bringing a lamb or calf to Ag day learnt a few tips from the session.
We really appreciated their time coming to share their knowledge.
Remember to get your entries in by 11th September for our Ag day to be held on October 16th. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฆฎ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ
