This is a beautiful opportunity for hapū māmā and their whānau to come together, weave their own wahakura, and wrap themselves in weaving tikanga, safe sleep messaging, and mātauranga Māori as they prepare for the arrival of their pēpi.

We are making a call out to any local sewers who would like to volunteer to help us with the sewing of woollen blankets for wahakura in partnership with Mokopuna Ora: Engaging whānau in the health and well-being of māmā & pēpi

We have a large amount of woollen blankets needing to be sewn and trimmed with ribbon. No experience in this is needed, it can be done from home on your machine and we will provide everything you need.
