š± What if the things you thought were being taken from you were actually making room for something new?
Today I was looking around the garden and noticed the unmistakable signs of spring.
A little more warmth in the air. Bulbs pushing their way through the ground, emerging from beneath the very things the winter frosts had burnt away.
Out with the old. In with the new.
It happens every year, and every year the garden becomes even more beautiful because of it.
It struck me today how much this mirrors where I am in my own life.
A year ago, I made a decision that I needed change. Big change.
The frost of life had burnt away many things I thought I couldn't ā or shouldn't ā have to live without.
For a long time, I spent so much energy trying to change circumstances that simply weren't mine to change. Eventually, I realised that energy was better spent looking inward and asking myself what I could do differently.
So I began focusing on me.
I started diving deeply into who I was, what I believed, the stories I'd carried, the experiences that had shaped me, and how all of that influenced the way I showed up in my life.
It hasn't always been comfortable. But growth rarely is.
Just like the garden, sometimes the old needs to be cleared away to create space for something new.
Old beliefs. Old expectations. Old versions of ourselves.
Not because they were necessarily bad, but because they may have simply served their purpose.
Spring reminds me that starting again isn't starting from scratch.
It's growing from everything we've already lived through. š±
So I'm curious...
What might you be ready to let go of, so something new can finally grow?
