Starting to prep for my level one, my tomato beds, potato beds, kumara beds and eyeing up a site for the garlic. All the basics...plus bonus round, the mounds for the pumpkin bonanza.

Peanut and Butter are turning last year's garden as I speak....incredible at adding manure where needed and eating the kikuyu roots.

July 26th I drop my first round of tomato seeds.

I had to eat humble pie today. For years I have said it is a waste of time planting out tomatoes earlier than Labour Day. So I planted a heap of Moonglow tomato plants one month earlier than usual. I stand corrected, my father was right.

Stems are so much stronger than the Labour Day plant out.

I love to experiment. May not be so in NZ areas with cooler climates.
