When the caretaker’s away… the principal gets to play 😄🚜

There’s something pretty special about getting out on the mower and taking care of our kura grounds. It’s more than just mowing lawns — it’s about pride, connection, and modelling that no job is too big or too small when it comes to our school.

At Pakaraka School, we all pitch in. We look after our environment, we learn through doing, and we lead by example 💚
You might see me in the office… or you might see me mowing the lawns!

Kia ora e te whānau,

We wanted to share something special growing here at Pakaraka School 🌱
These gourds have been grown right here in our school garden — nurtured over time by our tamariki through care, patience, and hands-on learning.

What you see here is more than just a harvest. It reflects what learning looks like at our kura:

✨ Working with the rhythms of nature
✨ Developing responsibility and care
✨ Learning through experience, not just instruction
✨ Celebrating growth — in all its forms
Each gourd tells a story of effort, curiosity, and connection to the whenua.

This is what we mean when we talk about educating the head, heart, and hands 💚
