Today's invitation to play is psyllium husk slime with pom-poms, tweezers and scoops, which encourages sensory exploration and fine motor skills development as children refine their pincer grip through interactive play.

On Wednesdays we go to Awhi Rito at Beach Haven Community house which is a bilingual playgroup with waiata (singing), Kanikani (dancing) and some really cool activities. This week we made insect fossils with play dough and insects. This was such a fun learning experience for our Tamariki. We will be following on this interest by going on bug hunts through our home garden environment and the ngahere (bush). We might even make some insect hotels. If you would like to join in at Awhi rito it is free and on at 10.30am-12 on Wednesdays at Beach Haven Community house in shepherds park.

Some of the Fabulous learning that happens while Tamariki are with me. We are always exploring, always engaging with the environment, and always developing our understanding of the world around us.
