Waitangi Day is New Zealand's national day. It is a holiday held annually on February 6th to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi - New Zealand's founding document - on February 6th 1840.

Pray for Tonga. It is a great opportunity for educators and whanau to review with our tamariki what to do in an emergency like volcano eruption. Shut all windows and doors immediately to avoid getting ash into the house, turn on the radio and follow the instruction of NZ civil defence. It is also a good idea to recheck your first aid kit and survival kit and update the items. Kia kaha Tonga.

It is Maori Language week between 13 September to 19 September (13-19 Mahuru).
Every year Māori Language Week is held to promote the indigenous language and celebrate the culture.
New Zealanders are encouraged to learn some te reo Māori and are given the chance to experience the culture with events scheduled around the country.
