Combining weights and cardio is like putting pineapple on pizza. Some love it, others would rather eat a shoe. 🍍 🍕

Legend has it that cardio and weights shouldn't belong in the same training program because one would negatively affect the other. That's a fat lie. Here's some basic tips to make sure you get the best of both worlds.

Want your squats to exceed the depths reached by Titan? Here are two tips to achieve the deepest of squats.

1. Elevate your heels
2. Position the weight anteriorly.

These two things will make it easier for you to stay upright with your hips and ribs in a good position for squatting. Do this long enough, and you will get better at shifting your center of mass back. If your COM is too far forward, you'll end up hinging your squats and never reaching full depth.

Back squats aren't always best, and elevating your heels isn't cheating.

Candice came to me a few months ago with very little experience in the weight room, Les Mills group classes were her go-to. She had a few misconceptions around fitness and what it meant to be in shape, which had been pushed on her by previous trainers. We've made some massive leaps forward in terms of how she thinks about food and exercise, and it shows in her physique and new physical capabilities. When we first started working together, Candice couldn't do one sit-up and had to roll sideways to get up off a bench, now she's smashing through sets of hanging knee raises and moving weights she didn't think would be possible, which to me is far more significant than the 9kg of weight she lost. We've managed to create some very strong, positive habits that are going to continue driving Candice's progress. When you have the right guidance and the will to work hard, your body will do some incredible things. Thank you, .bundy, for putting in the effort every day!!!

The RPE scale, something I find very useful for adding autoregulation into my clients programs. It takes some time to get familiar with, and you definitely need to push yourself to a 10 every now and then to recalibrate your scale but once it's mastered it adds so much value to your training. Have a read, let me know what you think.
