A very productive morning with the life skills trio. 1st up making the yoghurt, 2nd job was to learn how to layer lasagne, and last of all was to learn how to roll fresh pasta. The girls had to measure the length after each roll and tomorrow we are writing a maths question around this observation😁

Rippa Rugby day today. 😁 Our kids were great! Fantastic attitudes and wonderful playing. We were super proud of them both on and off the field. Thanks to the parent help and Whaea Jackie for the lovely lunch.

I'm sure you are all grateful we do these art projects at school! The tamariki were absolutely loving the chance to express their creative sides. 😂🥰

The Evolocity team entry is starting to take shape under the guidance of Colin MacDonald. Each week measurements are taken, adjustments are made, wheels put on, wheels taken off. Measure twice, cut once! Definitely exciting times ahead!

Fridays are becoming one of our favourite days! Whaea Marian, along with the year 5&6 tamariki are experimenting with a 'wonder project' which is based around making icecream. Different techniques are being explored and also a yummy range of flavours are being presented to us each week. Voting for just one is very hard but we accept the challenge 😁

Another part of our Enrichment Programme is a weekly life skills session with Whaea Jackie. Learning everything from measurements, reading recipes, safety in the kitchen, hygiene and food safety just to name a few. The end product always brings out the beautiful smiles.

While the seniors are at Technology on Fridays, we have fun with science. Today our Yr 3 & 4s explored air pressure, friction and forces by making their very own hovercrafts! Using just CDs, balloons and a few simple materials, the students created hovercrafts that glided across the floor on a cushion of air. There was plenty of experimenting, testing and heaps of fun. It was fantastic to see our tamariki asking questions, making predictions, problem-solving and learning from what happened – exactly what hands-on science is all about.

🏊‍♀️🌟 Swimmers of the Month! 🌟🏊‍♀️

As part of our Enrichment Programme, we are fortunate to send two of our students to Wai Splash for individual swimming lessons over two terms.

We were absolutely thrilled to hear that Wai Splash have been so impressed with our two swimmers this term that they have been awarded Swimmers of the Month certificates! The girls have embraced the opportunity, turning up each week ready to learn, giving everything a go and working hard to improve their swimming skills. Their commitment and positive attitude have really shone through, and they are a wonderful example of our GREAT school values — Give it a Go, Respect, Excellence, Attitude and Teamwork. We are so proud of you both! Keep up the fantastic work, girls!
