We are so excited to have our first little bass on our brand new Victoria Jones Award leased out to Kah Jong at Arohanui Strings! This Award sponsors an Arohanui Strings student by supplying them with an appropriate sized bass so new new bassists have access to what they need to thrive. Kah Jong is currently playing "Bunga Bird," generously donated by Allen Jones during our initial Boosted campaign.

Thank you SO much for having our tutor Alanna, at your rehearsal last week, Manawatu Youth Orchestra and Sinfonia!! It was a pleasure to hear your bass section and introduce the wonders of bass to the wider orchestra. Looking forward to working with you again soon. Also, a special bravi to your two new bass players!!

We had our very first mid-year recital yesterday!! So great to connect all the new bass players and hear what everyone has been up to this year. Bravi tutti and special thanks to Damien and Malcolm for joining us for a bass quartet. Looking forward to the next one!

Kia ora Lyall Bay School for having us on Tuesday! What an amazingly attentive assembly and well done to Luke for trying the bass for the first time on a Wellington Music Education Trust 10th sized bass, pai te mahi!!!

They're finally here!!!! Our basses are fresh off the boat and soon to be put together and in to the hands of some brand new bass players! Thank you to everyone who made this a reality and look out for Piccolo Bass at a school near you!!
