Confidence isn't something you either have or you don't - it's something you build.
It's that moment you trust your gut when something feels off. It's finding your voice when it matters most. It's knowing that you get to decide what's okay and what's not.
Whether it's saying no without guilt, walking away from something that doesn't feel right, or responding when a situation catches you off guard - confidence is the foundation of all of it.
And the beautiful thing? It can be learned. It can be practised. And it grows every single time you choose yourself.
✨ That's exactly what we work on together at P.S. Taranaki.
I run courses for schools, tertiary education, community groups, workplace teams, and private events - all tailored and adapted to what your group needs. No one-size-fits-all here.
If you've ever wished you felt more sure of yourself - or you want that for the people in your community, your workplace, or your school - let's make it happen. 💙
📩 Flick me a message to find out more or book your group in. I'd love to work with you.

Real personal safety isn't just about knowing how to fight back - it's about knowing your worth. 💜
It's about trusting your instincts, using your voice, setting boundaries, and recognising when something doesn't feel right.
That's the heart of what I do at P.S. Taranaki. Whether I'm working with young girls at school, women or groups in our community, or teams in the workplace - my goal is always the same: to help people feel safer, stronger and more confident in their own skin. ✨
Because awareness, boundaries and communication really are our most powerful safety tools.

Tonight I had the absolute privilege of attending a powerful workshop hosted by Taranaki Safe Families Trust - 'Young People & Harmful Online Content' presented by Dane Haskell. 🙌
This is very much the world PS Taranaki operates in too, and I left feeling energised and even more committed to this important mahi. Dane brought real insight, honesty and practical tools to a topic that affects every family in our community.
Online sexual content and sexual abuse material is a reality for most young people in Aotearoa - and it's shaping sexual culture in ways many of us aren't fully aware of. Taranaki Safe Families Trust is doing incredible work helping parents, caregivers, educators and communities understand this landscape and equip young people to navigate it.
Their kaupapa sits so closely alongside our own at PS Taranaki - and I'd love to explore ways we might work alongside each other in this space to build a safer community 🤝
If you get the chance to attend one of these workshops - GO. Whether you're a parent, caregiver, teacher or anyone who works with young people, it's an absolute must.
And if you'd like to book this workshop for your organisation or community group, I'd highly recommend reaching out to Taranaki Safe Families Trust directly. 💛

Glamorous behind-the-scenes of personal safety education 😂💜
While most people picture punch pads and self-defence skills… there’s also:
🧽 disinfectant
🧼 wipes
🧺 washing cloths
…and some cleaning involved 😅
Getting everything prepped for this weekend’s upcoming courses and making sure all equipment is cleaned and disinfected ready for everyone attending.
Next up:
🛒 shopping
🥪 catering prep
☕ snacks & refreshments
Because looking after the wellbeing of the wāhine attending our courses is just as important to us as teaching practical safety skills 💜
We’re really looking forward to empowering some awesome women in Taranaki this weekend 💪✨
And if you missed out or couldn’t make it to this weekend’s courses, stay tuned — we’ll be announcing upcoming courses soon 😊

💜Setting Boundaries Is Not Rude - It's Necessary💜
One of the biggest myths we need to challenge is the idea that setting boundaries is selfish, aggressive, or unkind.
The truth is, boundaries are one of the most important tools we have for protecting our wellbeing and safety - in every relationship in our lives.
Whether it's with a romantic partner, a friend, a workmate, or a family member - boundaries communicate what we need, what we will and won't accept, and how we expect to be treated. They are not about pushing people away. They are about creating the conditions where healthy, respectful relationships can actually thrive.
When someone dismisses, mocks, or pressures you for having boundaries, that reaction tells you everything. Respect for boundaries is a basic measure of respect for you as a person.
Here's what healthy boundaries can look like:
💜 In intimate relationships - feeling safe to say no, to voice your needs, and to have those needs honoured without guilt, punishment, or pressure.
💜 In friendships - being able to set limits on your time and energy without fear of losing the relationship.
💜 At work - speaking up about what is and isn't acceptable without fear of retaliation or being dismissed.
💜 In family - recognising that love does not mean tolerating behaviour that harms you.
Setting boundaries is not rude. It is not weakness. It is not too much to ask. It is you protecting your wellbeing and safety - and you have every right to do that.
💜Want to explore this further?💜
In my courses, we dive deeper into exactly this - why boundaries matter, what they can look like across different relationships and situations, and how to communicate them confidently and assertively. Because knowing you have the right to set boundaries is one thing - feeling equipped to actually do it is another.
I also work with organisations, workplaces, schools, and community groups - and every course can be tailored specifically to your needs and environment.
Whether you're an individual wanting to learn more, or an organisation looking to bring this work to your team or community, feel free to send me a message or drop a comment below - I'd love to hear from you. 💜
