Education facilitator, Angela Solomon - from Te Ture Kaupapa o Taranaki - Taranaki Community Law will give us the opportunity to learn more about the legal options for our loved ones.

Event Cinemas in Ngāmotu

Our friends at EVENT Cinemas are running a series of sensory screenings at many of their cinemas nationwide from January to April.

The locations are EVENT Cinemas Albany, Manukau, St Lukes, Westcity, Chartwell, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Queensgate, Tauranga Crossing.

The films include Moana 2, Mufasa, Paddington in Peru and Sonic 3, and all tickets are $12.

Sensory Screenings allow people to enjoy their favourite films in a safe and accepting environment where kids are free to get up, move around, shout or sing. The cinema lights are dimmed and the movie volume lowered for sensitive ears.

WĀNANGA RĀ TUARUA 🌬️🍃

Our taonga takiwātanga wanted to move out into Te Taiao, and that’s what we did. Hineraumati warmed Papa starting our second day with wahine ataahua Paula - Yoga breathing & grounding session with taonga pūtētere🧘🏽‍♀️

We reached out to Matua Te Iringa to bring music to our tamariki. How magical was it for us mātua to be in wānanga and hear our taonga out in te taiao playing taonga pūoro/musical instruments

Karapōtia te taonga i te aroha 🗻🌿

This weekend we welcomed in our beautiful kaupapa at Kairau Marae, a wānanga where we held space for our taonga takiwātanga and their whānau to come together and share their stories! Our wānanga was enriched in tīkanga, te reo māori while connecting our whānau to each-other. We hope to support and change the negative deficit for takiwātanga using mana enhancing kupu and kōrero from a Māori wideview ❤️

Hurooo! Registrations now open for the first Takiwātanga/Autism wananga here in Taranaki!

The purpose of this wananga is to create a safe community for Takiwātanga and their caregivers, where you will be celebrated, empowered and supported where ever you may be on your journey.

And lastly, He mihi nui e te iwi thank you all for the amazing response for our expression of interest, we have limited spaces for this wananga, please keep an eye out here for future wananga!
