Merrilands Kindergarten - Te Whare o nga Puawai Te Whare ō ngā Puāwai / Merrilands Kindergarten is a welcoming, diverse community where tamariki are treasured as taonga. We celebrate individuality, nurture respect and belonging, and build strong partnerships with whānau.

Kia ora e te whānau. Just a reminder to you all that our Kindergartens are closed tomorrow, Friday April 19 for a staff Professional Learning Day.

Kindergartens are also closed next Thursday April 25 for Anzac Day public holiday.

ENROLMENT STEPS
🟡 1. Phone to arrange a visit, or come in during the kindergarten day to have a look around and meet the team.

🟢 2. Pick up an ENROLMENT FORM from kindergarten, or download and print the form from our website www.kindergartentaranaki.co.nz

🔵 3. Complete the enrolment form.
The form contains essential information about your child. You can complete this on-site or take the form home.

🟣 4. A teacher will contact you to discuss your needs, when a space is available, and answer any questions you might have.

🟡 5. The kindergarten will work with you to arrange a suitable start date.

The kindergarten year consists of a one week break in July, and a longer break over December and January, so tamariki are able to attend kindergarten for most of the year.

What HOURS are kindergartens open?

All our kindergartens* (except Koru Kindergarten) offer up to 6 hours per day with session times between 8:30am–2:30pm.

We offer morning and afternoon sessions, or all day sessions may be available.

The kindergarten year consists of a one week break in July, and a longer break over December and January.

Contact your local Kindergarten for more information, as availability and times will vary between kindergartens.

*Koru kindergarten offers up to 7.5 hours per day, with session times for children3 months to 6 years.

新 年 快 乐 😊 This Saturday (10th February) marks the Chinese Luna New Year, the year of Dragon 2024. This event is equivalent to kiwi families celebrating Christmas in New Zealand where family members, relatives and friends re-unite and reconnect. This morning we celebrated this cultural event by facilitating an art activity that allowed our tamariki/children to get to know the traditional customs and events that were significant to the Chinese culture. Tamariki were decorating and exploring symbols and images that associated with this event. Some children were inspired by this activity and created their own version of the dragon in a visual and written way.
We wish all of our whānau a prosperous year filled with peace, joy, wealth and happiness.

Merrilands Kindergarten teaching team

Head to Pukekura Park to track down the cut-out Ross the Cat themed clues! This FREE event is running on 3 days - 17th/18th/19th January. It's fun for the whole family but you do need to REGISTER FOR A START TIME. The treasure hunt typically takes 40 minutes to complete. Who knows you may even see Ross himself as you meander around the main lake?! Text 02102456720 to BOOK TODAY. Spaces are limited.

We offer up to 30 hours FREE* for children aged 2- 6 years (excluding Koru Kindergarten).

We have kindergartens in Pātea, Hawera, Eltham, Stratford, Inglewood, Bell Block, Waitara, New Plymouth and Ōakura.

Our Kindergartens are as unique as the tamariki who attend, we take pride in the fact that no two Kindergartens are the same – we encourage you to visit to find the one that best suits you and your child.
