There’s 2 new patterns on my needles at the moment and this linen yarn is calling me with its summery siren song. It’s motivating me to finish my wips so we can play together.


I bought a Cocoknits pop up air dryer and it’s pretty cool! It’ll let me block knits without damaging my wooden floors or getting bumps from the clothes horse. BUT, the opening and closing of it takes some inner fortitude 😆


I got a Cocoknits pop up drier and I really like it! My clothes rack has bits sticking up that makes blocking knits on it really tricky. And I don’t want to damage my wooden floors by laying my wet knitwear on it.
So I’ve started wedging the pop up drier on the clothing rack and it’s a brilliant solution!

In a break from knitting related content: we took the family on a 3 day tramp (hike) through the start of the Queen Charlotte track in the Marlborough sounds. It was so good! I love the simplicity of these moments and that life becomes simply walking and eating together, early nights and gazing at nature. Life is uncomplicated there and sometimes it’s hard and your body is tired, but there’s a deep joy in overcoming the challenges ❤️

I’m playing with some 2ply alpaca at the moment. It’s handy for bulking other yarns up one size when you don’t want the fluff of mohair.
So far the 4ply + alpaca feels like 5ply yarn, which is really handy to know if there’s a 5ply (sport) weight pattern you love. 5ply can be really hard to find sometimes!

My daughter made me crochet flowers for my birthday recently 🌷🤩
I feel so lucky that we get to share the love of making. Not only do we love hunting for the “perfect yellow” together or digging through buttons, but I also get the cutest gifts that she’s spent hours lovingly creating. They make me so happy! ❤️
