What a great way to end another busy and productive year!
After 6 years we were able to complete our 2nd Enviroschools reflection which is simply a celebration of what we have achieved thus far on our Enviroschools waka.
Nga Mihi to all of our whanau who have shared their voices as part of this kaupapa which has been added to our leaves on the wall. If you haven't already, please feel free to add/message what you have observed or new learning you have seen in your child/ren around sustainability.
Our current Internal Evaluation question we have been asking ourselves is, 'How effectively do we honour and include the cultural diversity of the children in our environment' which stems from one of the 5 guiding principles of Enviroschools - Respect for Diversity. Some of the changes we have made and data we have collected will be added to this process also.
We will display our awa and how we have navigated it over the past 6 years with its boulders, currents and little calm spots to pull into and reflect or simply take a breath before moving further down stream.
Nga Mihi Nui to our Enviroschools facilitator Jo Woods Pirimai Kindergarten who made this an enjoyable and achievable experience💚.
We look forward to writing our new philosophy as a team next year and coming back together in 12/18 months to pull into shore again and celebrate our successes as Taradale East Kindergarten Community!!

Thank you to all our whanau and friends who were able to support another great end of year celebration this year!
We appreciate it is a busy time of the year but it was great to have (for those who were able) many family members there in person, sellers and supporters of the raffle tickets, donations for our 3 awesome hampers (both businesses and our families) and some yummy Christmas kai to top off the day.
Of course the bouncy castle is always a hit and we can't forget our loyal Santa who turns up every year minus his reindeer but with good Christmas Cheer!!

We are very pleased to share we have had our forth awesome fundraiser for the year and together we raised $1031 from our raffle. A big congratulations to our winners who were...

Kia Ora friends & whanau,

Tomorrow after session your team will be having a reflection for Enviroschools with one of our facilitators.
We will be celebrating what we have achieved around sustainability and would love you to add your comments to one of our leaves to capture what you have seen.
Our 5 guiding principles are Sustainable Communities, Empowered Learners, Learning for Sustainability, Te Ao Maori and Respect for Diversity.
We have brainstormed the following -
1. How does our learning encourage open minds and hearts to all our community?
2. How do we meaningfully support tamariki maori and their whanau?
3. How does the tuakana-teina model support learners to empower each other?
4. What sustainable practices have we put in place?
Please feel free to add your comments to a leaf or message us and we can add them on your behalf.
Nga Mihi Nui

Kia ōra whanau,

We cordially invite all of our little people’s special people on Tuesday 21st October . We will be sharing morning tea at 9.45am, and our little people will be sharing their learning journey with our guests.

We will also be having a bake sale so please make sure your special people bring some coins. To enable this to happen we are requesting the contribution of a plate of cake(s), biscuits, or slice to sell on the day to support our fundraising endeavours.

Kia ora whānau,

Welcome to Term 4! We’re also excited to welcome our new kaiāko, Kat, who joined us today at Kindergarten. It’s a special time as we now care for 40 tamariki throughout the day, and Kat has joined our team to help support this next chapter.

As we head into the warmer months, we kindly ask that each child brings a named hat that can be kept at Kindergarten. Having their own clearly named hat helps both tamariki and kaiako easily identify it.

We also ask that you apply sunblock to your child each morning before arriving. We’ll make sure to reapply it throughout the day as needed.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Ngā mihi,
Taradale East Kindergarten Team
