Why we chose Napier π
When we left Cape Town, we could've landed anywhere in NZ. We chose Napier β and four years in, it's been the right call for our family.
βοΈ The pull: sunshine, the coast, Art Deco charm, and an easy, low-traffic pace. Median rent sits around $640/week.
π² The everyday stuff: an easy, outdoors kind of life β bikes, beaches, and space for the kids to just be kids. That freedom is hard to put a price on.
π© A local highlight: Napier hosts NZ's iconic Art Deco Festival every year β vintage cars, period dress, the lot. It's one of the country's most unique events, right on our doorstep.
The honest bit: Napier's a small city and the job market is tighter than Auckland or Wellington. But for family life? Hard to beat.
We break down the suburbs in detail inside the SaffaSettle toolkit.
