🎸 ROCKING THE BANDQUEST STAGE! 🎸
Last Thursday, our two school bands—Oceanic Static and Youth Criminals—took to the stage at BandQuest, and both gave phenomenal performances!
A massive congratulations to Youth Criminals for taking out 1ST PLACE! 🏆 They won $300 for our school and will move on to represent Mount Intermediate at the regionals!
A special shoutout goes to Kai, who was named Best Lead Guitarist of the entire night! 🎸🔥
Since forming these bands, the students have discovered that being a musician is about so much more than simply walking into a room and playing an instrument. Before they even get to the practice room, they have been developing the life skills that underpin great musicianship: communication, cooperation, resilience, discipline, creativity, and connection.
They are learning that being part of a band means listening to others, supporting each other, and adapting when things don't go to plan. These are skills that will extend far beyond the BandQuest stage.
We are so proud of both bands for their hard work, dedication, and incredible talent! Stay tuned as Youth Criminals gear up for regionals! 🙌🎶
