A HUGE congratulations to all our students who entered TOI- Wearable Arts this year. This event was held at Baypark on Tuesday 16th June along with Showquest. The 16 garments (26 students involved) were absolutely incredible, and it was amazing to finally see them come to life on stage! The creativity, dedication, and hard work truly stood out and we were incredibly proud of what was achieved.

Amazing results in which we received 9 awards and also won 'Star of the Night'.

To make it into the TOI Showcase this year was an outstanding achievement due to the changes implemented and going through a pre-selection first. There were over 900 registrations nationwide.
We would like to thank Mrs Wylie for the time and effort she put in with the students who participated. Also a huge thanks to the parents who supported and encouraged the students through the entire process.

EPro8 GRAND FINAL SUCCESS! 🏆

A massive congratulations to The Dragon Pandas for taking out 2nd Place last night in the EPro8 Grand Final! Luna Wnendt; Jett Davie; Logan Payne and Noah Wnendt.

The EPro8 Grand Final is an intense three-hour event where teams tackle complex engineering and electronics challenges. Having already battled their way through the Inter-School Heats and Semi-Finals, just making it to the big stage was a massive achievement.

Competing against the absolute best teams from across the Bay of Plenty, Taupō, and Waikato regions, our students showed incredible teamwork, grit, and problem-solving skills. We are so proud of you! 🐼🐉

Our amazing Showquest team came ✨ 2nd place ✨ on Tuesday night at the annual Showquest & Toi event. They told a beautiful story, through dance and drama, called 'Te Ao Hurihuri (A Changing World)' about being the kaitiakitanga of our natural world when everything has changed so much in our modern world.

It was a big day but all the kids had the best time and were so proud of themselves!!!

We also received Special awards for: Excellence in Technology (for our LED screen background), and Recognition in Dance, and Recognition in Drama.

Please give these kids a huge congratulations if you see them!

A very huge thanks to Ashleen for the work that has gone into this group, you are a superstar! Thanks also to the whānau and staff who supported the team on the night!

PlayStation VS Cards? 16/06/2026

Welcome to this weeks 2-Minute Tuesdays - Parenting Tips and Tricks!

PlayStation VS Cards?

Playing cards with your child isn’t just a game—it’s a powerful moment of connection.

While a PlayStation offers distraction, a deck of cards invites eye contact, laughter, and presence. It taps into a child’s deepest psychological need: to feel seen and valued.

Every shuffle, every shared win or loss, builds emotional intelligence, resilience, and trust. These are the moments that shape secure attachments and lasting memories—far more rewarding than any digital high score.

When you sit across the table, you’re not just playing a game—you’re saying, you matter to me.

Moturiki House had an awesome Whānau Sharing Day this afternoon! ☀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

The highlight? A very competitive Parents vs Kids game of Ārunga Touch! There was plenty of laughter, impressive sidesteps, and some very determined parents trying to keep up 😅

We are pleased to report that no injuries were recorded… although a few parents may be feeling it tomorrow morning! 😂

And in case you were wondering — the kids were mostly victorious 👏🏆
A huge thank you to all the whānau who came along and joined in the fun!
