NZ Grappler North Island champs.
Proud to say we took a small dedicated team to Auckland today to compete.
One new competitor, and a few that have competed before.

Just wow
Andrew- bronze medal 🥉 Gi
In his first competition too. A superb effort from a first timer, with good ears 👂 listening and following the coaches instructions
Aiden- Silver medal 🥈 Gi
Up against a very strong experienced opponent. Lost on points initially, defending exceptionally well and showing exceptional heart.
This is a boy to watch. He is improving so much and is hungry to win.
Lillith- Bronze medal 🥉 no gi
Against a loaded deck in Gi, she was unable to medal. But an amazing effort to hold the eventual winner to a points decision in early rounds.
Lillith worked incredibly hard to secure a bronze in No-gi
Fletcher- Silver medal 🥈 Gi
Bronze medal 🥉 No-gi
Started every match aggressively and challenged every opponent. In Gi, won his first convincingly- chained his attacks until he overwhelmed his opponent. Unfortunately Fletcher came up short in the final against a great exponent.
In No-gi Fletcher gave up 2 years and scared both his opponents before losing on points initially before a submission to the eventual winner .
Jason- didn't finish on the podium for the first time in ages. Our only adult competitor, he gave up years to his division but didn't give up in any other way.
