Wairarapa Kapa Haka Festival
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
St Mary’s School has been practising hard, and we are excited to perform at the Wairarapa Kapa Haka Festival.
The festival will be held on Wednesday 23 September at Wairarapa College in Masterton.
Our performance time is 12:45 pm.

We will travel to and from the festival by bus. Students will leave school at 10:40 am and depart Wairarapa College at approximately 1:15 pm.

Kapa Haka Uniform
All students need to wear fitted black shorts underneath their uniform. Bike shorts or fitted swimming shorts/togs are suitable. Please ensure the shorts have no writing or logos, as these may be visible through the kapa haka uniform.
Girls’ Hair
Girls need to come to school with their hair half-up, half-down.
If you are unsure, your child can bring a hairbrush and hair tie to school. Staff can help put their hair up before the performance.
All girls will wear feathers in their hair.

Middle and senior students will also wear moko for the performance.

Watching the Performance
Whānau are warmly invited to come and watch our performance. We recommend being seated in the Wairarapa College Hall by 12:30 pm.

The hall doors are closed between performances, so arriving early will help ensure you do not miss our performance.
We look forward to sharing this special kapa haka experience with our school community.

Gold coin donation on the door.
Food, drinks and glow sticks available (cash only!)
Preschoolers welcome but please provide parent supervision.
There will be a song request sheet at the office so we can add your favorite songs to the Playlist!

Leo and Tommy have finished their bake sales so thank you to everyone who has supported their fundraiser.
We now have the Fathers Day shop running before school every day until next Friday.

Hi Saint Mary Families,
Fathers Day is just around the corner (Sunday 6th September) and Stefan has you sorted. He will be selling some cool things for Dad starting tomorrow. You can visit his shop in the office before school.
Things are packaged up to save you the hassle. Lolly boxes, Mini tools,Hats and Pens
When you buy something you will be helping get Stefan to Queenstown.
