Just a reminder that we have our MBS School Working Bee next Saturday, 22 August, from 8:00am–2:00pm.
We would love to see as many of our MBS whaanau as possible come along and help us get stuck in!
Please remember to:
- Wear clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting dirty or ripped.
- Although we will supply equipment you can bring your own gardening gloves, spades, wheelbarrows or any other useful gardening tools you have available.
- Morning tea is provided but we encourage you to bring a drinking water bottle to stay hydrated and some kai/snacks to keep you going throughout the day.

As we look ahead to the season, Maangere Bridge School is proud to honour and celebrate this year’s Cook Islands Language Week theme:

We believe that when tamariki are grounded in their identity, they gain confidence to thrive in a changing world. Language revitalisation is strongest when we journey together—whether fluent in Cook Islands Maaori or just beginning alongside your child. Every word spoken helps keep the language alive for future generations.

Kia ora e te whaanau,
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Matariki Night Market scheduled for Thursday 25 June 2026.
This decision was not made lightly. Due to the weather forecast and the potential health and safety risks associated with the conditions, we believe cancelling the event is the most responsible choice for our tamariki, whaanau, staff, stallholders, and wider community.
While we are disappointed, some things are beyond our control. What we can control is the decisions we make to keep everyone safe.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We appreciate the effort that everyone has put into preparing for this event and look forward to celebrating together again in the future.

Join us next Thursday, 25th June from 5pm – 8pm for a special evening as we come together to celebrate Matariki ✨
There’ll be something for everyone, great food, community vibes, cultural performances, mini competitions and a chance to connect and celebrate what makes our community so special.
