At Mene Menemene we take an actively anti-racist and decolonial stance, which demands that we speak out about racism and settler-colonial violence all over the world. Guided by many iwi and hapū and leaders in te ao Māori we stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, now and always. Ake, ake ake.

Have you seen all the research detailing how intercultural competency hinges on cultural self-concept, ie. knowing who you are through the lens of whakapapa and the whenua your ancestors were built by? I'm so excited to be running this course at the end of the month, exploring our identities as Pākehā, sharpening up our understandings of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it relates to who we are today, and filling your kete with more reo, waiata and ability to mihi when and where its needed. Kia hiwa rā, kia hiwa rā! Join us for a 2 day deep dive into our roles and responsibilities as Pākehā, some of the juicy history around Te Tiriti and how we relate to it today. Let's deepen our connections to our own lineages, stories and identities, and broaden our understanding of how colonisation may have shown up in our own whakapapa.
