We know we’re all about ARTBOURNE 2026 right now, but check out some of our own budding Wellesley artists! 🎨

Our Year 1 and 2 boys have been busy in the Art Room with Specialist Art Teacher Mr Jorna, creating these wonderfully bold and colourful paintings inspired by the story of Māui and the Sun ☀️

From the blazing reds and oranges to the enormous swirling eyes, sharp teeth and tiny figures working together to capture the sun, every painting has its own personality. And judging by those proud smiles, the artists are pretty pleased with their masterpieces too!

Ka rawe boys. We love them!

🎶 Join us for a celebration of performance, passion and joy! 🎤

Our Year 5–8 boys are taking centre stage for this year’s Wellesley Performing Arts Showcase, and we’d love you to join us!

Expect plenty of dancing, singing and music, with year group performances alongside our school choir, rock bands and talented solo performers.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to see our Performing Arts programme come to life and celebrate the creativity, confidence, hard work and sheer joy our boys bring to the stage.

🏃‍♂️ What a day for our Wellesley RUNATHON! 🔴🟡🔵🟢

The sun was shining, the House colours were out in force, and our boys and staff absolutely threw themselves into 40 minutes of non-stop running, cheering and some brilliant House spirit!

There were some beautiful displays of Tuakana Teina along the way, with our older and younger boys running together, encouraging each other and showing what Wellesley spirit is all about.

Congratulations to our Selwyn House Captains, Russell, Miles and Harry (with huge support from Ms Fitzsimmons), who did a fantastic job organising the afternoon and getting everyone involved.

It was also super cool to have 2024 Selwyn House Captain Charlie turn up and join us for 5kms worth of few laps!

And of course no Runathon would be complete without something delicious waiting at the finish line. A big thank you to our wonderful Wellesley Parents’ Association for keeping the sausages sizzling and feeding plenty of hungry runners. 🌭

A fantastic afternoon of fun, friendly competition and Wellesley spirit. Now for the important question…which House clocked up the most laps? 👀

🏃‍♂️ Ready, set…RUN!

Tomorrow our Selwyn House Captains are hosting Wellesley’s very own Runathon!

This one is not a fundraiser and all about House spirit, friendly competition and those all-important points towards the end-of-year House Cup 🔵🟡🟢🔴

The boys will run with their Houses, with staggered starts, and have 40 minutes to clock up as many laps as they can.

And waiting at the finish line? A well-earned sausage sizzle, courtesy of our wonderful Wellesley Parents’ Association. 🌭

Boys should come to school in uniform as usual, then change into their House colours or accessories at lunchtime ready to run. They can head home in their school tracksuits.

A huge thanks to Selwyn House Captains Russell, Miles and Harry for organising what promises to be a fantastic afternoon.

ARTBOURNE 2026!

A trip back in time for our Year 3 and 4 boys! 🏫

As part of their Then vs Now inquiry, the boys experienced a day in the life of a Wellesley student 100 years ago.

Under the watchful eyes of Mrs O’Leary and Mrs Krauss, the desks were lined up in neat rows and the boys settled in for a rather different kind of school day. They learnt a poem and tackled spelling, writing, maths and plenty of careful handwriting.

Unfortunately we don’t have an old-fashioned blackboard at Wellesley, so the boys missed out on the delightful experience of hearing fingernails scrape down one!

After lunch it was time for some practical skills and old-fashioned fun, with sewing followed by games including hopscotch, skipping and hula hoops.

A wonderful hands-on way to discover just how much school life has changed over the past century…although some playground favourites clearly stand the test of time!

🤸 Hutt Valley Gymnastics Sports Fest!

On Friday, our Years 4-6 boys had a fantastic time at the Hutt Valley Gymnastics Sports Fest.

It was a brilliant opportunity to get moving and have a go at a range of gymnastics activities, with plenty of jumping, balancing, bouncing and testing their strength, coordination and agility along the way.
