What a fantastic first IYM Satellite Online we had last Friday.
249 participants got to see the variety of roles and machinery used via a video tour of Affinity Medical Imaging offices in Te Whanganui-a-tara, Wellington.
They also got a Q&A panel with 7 of the team at Affinity Medical Imaging, showcasing a variety of imaging modalities and in various stages in their careers.
A big thank you to the team at Affinity Medical Imaging and to Evie Boyd, an IYM Alumnae who MC’d our Satellite.

IYM's Affinity Satellite Programme connects students with the people and professions shaping the future of medical imaging and radiation sciences.
Through a series of engaging presentations, participants have the opportunity to hear directly from professionals working across a wide range of imaging specialties, gaining valuable insight into career pathways, emerging technologies, and the real-world impact of their work on patient care.
Our students will today hear from:

Rebekah Whitehurst – CT and General X-Ray
Daniel Cachaco – CT Technologist
Tim Nikoloff – MRI and CT
Bree Burns – MRI and X-Ray

Abraham Sampson – MIT and MRI
Together, these speakers will showcase the diversity of opportunities available within medical imaging, while sharing their personal journeys, professional experiences, and insights into the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
The Affinity Satellite Programme is about more than career exploration. It is about helping young people see themselves in these professions, understand the pathways available to them, and connect classroom learning with meaningful future opportunities.
