Playcentre is a space for people to come together, a place for kids to learn and grow, and an opportunity for kids - and adults - to play! At Leithfield Playcentre we have a supportive and committed group of parents, and we have a lot of fun playing alongside our awesome kids! Our sessions run from 9.15-12.15, Monday and Thursday mornings during term time. We have babies, toddlers and young childr
en - up to the age of six. The mixed-aged dynamic means that the younger ones learn from observing and getting involved, while the older kids lead their own play, while developing greater awareness of the needs of our youngest ones. Playcentre is all about free, child-led play - our kids have the freedom to take play into their own hands, and we support them with this. Our kids love dancing, dressing up, as well as climbing and building. There is no limit to the wonderful play (and learning) opportunities on offer at Leithfield. We bake or cook together most sessions, and share what we have made. We have a regular kai time and like to come together for stories and songs. Pliable playdough in the one hand, another tantalisingly tactile concoction in the other! We are proud of the paint stains on our 'Playcentre clothes'! We also go on regular excursions, exploring the local environment and getting out in the community. Our babies ride in buggies, while the big kids get out their bikes. We just love getting active, and exploring the world around us. Pop on down for a visit, and get a feel for what goes on. We'd love to meet you!
