Good luck to everyone entering FreshChoice Kepler Challenge tomorrow when entries open (and abruptly close!). It’s the most iconic race in Aotearoa, and I can’t wait to meet you all on the start line!

BIG NEWS! We are just under a week away from public entries going on sale (mark your calendars, you’ll need to be quick!). Not only is this Aotearoa’s flattest BYU, but it’s also one of the most scenic and runnable courses. And that’s without mentioning how amazing the event crew is - for runners, by runners!

I’m super happy to announce that not only will I be returning as a runner but LFS is also on board as a gold sponsor. Today is global running day and I just want to say thank you ♥️ Thank you to all of you who have let me be part of your journey, big or small - and to those whose future running journey I’ll be part of. It has been my dream for so long to do something to help others and you may never know how much it means to have the privilege of helping you when times are tough and celebrating with you when you win. Spending global running day this year celebrating ALL your achievements, my LFS crew - from your first running steps right up to your 100 milers and beyond. Thank you for choosing me as your coach, and I can’t wait to see what we do next ♥️

New look. Same mission.

You may have noticed our new logo and theme popping up around the place! That’s right, LFS has had a long overdue glow up. Still the same personalised coaching, just staying a little more classy 💅

Exciting news! LFS will be back at as a sponsor this year. I’ll also be personally running my tenth and attending my 30th event - so I know that track pretty well by now!

Entries open next week for charity runners and in the first weekend of July for the fast-fingered among the rest. Last year entries were sold out for both the 60k Challenge and 27k Grunt in under two minutes. This year, I reckon fastest ever sell out.

Kepler and Grunt runners get 10% off 1:1 coaching with me - toward that event and anything that may come before or after! Just DM to get started.

Pure pride.

I started coaching four years ago because I genuinely love helping people achieve goals, no matter how small or big a part in their day. I have the absolute privilege of watching them grow and improve, and to achieve things that at one point they wouldn’t even have thought possible.

Watching come home at Ultra Trail Australia yesterday after 163km was probably the greatest moment of my coaching career. Not only did he finish one of the hardest miler courses in the world hours ahead of cutoffs, he did so at his first attempt at the distance. Not even Courtney Dauwalter finished her first miler. (Neither did I!)

So proud and awestruck. What I have the privilege of seeing is all the behind the scenes that goes into a finish like this: the day in day out hard work, the sacrifices, the hard times. Absolutely phenomenal performance from an absolutely phenomenal human. Put your feet up, Tom - you’ve earned it 🤩

I used to come last in events. Like actually last. That secret fear of any back of pack runner? I’ve lived it. When I was a kid, my family even used to make jokes about it every time I did a running race.

These days? I’ve worked my way up. It took hard work and it mostly took a whole lot of patience (also strength training… you know who you are, athletes this is directed at!). It’s a work in progress and there’s more to come!

If you’ve ever thought coaching isn’t for you because you’re not good enough at this thing we love, I’m here to tell you it is. I’ve been where you are and I’m here to help you out!

Now a question: what’s your biggest goal you’re scared to say out loud? Mine’s a 22 hour miler. 😎 What’s in your future?
